Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spiky blonde hair and a exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates anxiety about restaurant food on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked in some of the top restaurants located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable learning experience for me. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from the experience. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian food and culture throughout her time in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to improve living conditions for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of children's diabetes. She is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and travels the country as part of her mentorship role. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to be in a position to share her passion for the food industry with people.
