Vinita Nair

In July of 2004, she joined the station and covered a variety of stories. These included the investigation into the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings that occurred in Bailey, Colorado. Nair was hired by ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now in December 2007. The anchor was responsible for anchoring live news coverage as well as briefings on ABC's digital networks. Nair was co-anchor on World News Now and America This Morning on ABC, from September 17, 2008, from September 17, 2008, until February 18, 2011. On both of these programs, Nair was initially paired together with Jeremy Hubbard. Later she was paired with Rob Nelson. Nair revealed on Thursday, 17 February 2011 the date for her final night broadcasting at World News Now would be the evening of Friday, 18th February. Also, it would be her final day at ABC News. Peggy Bunker from KDVR Denver became her replacement immediately. The edition on February 18, World News Now paid tribute to Nair during each of its three segments. It also featured appearances by current and former colleagues including Jeremy Hubbard. The crew was treated to an excellent breakfast in her final day. Vinita Vinita Vinita Vinita
